South Brunswick, NJ – January 15, 2015 – Tabtor, a tablet-based math program that is redefining education through personalized learning, launched the first Tabtor Center in Kendall Park, New Jersey today. Tabtor already works closely with the South Brunswick School District in New Jersey, improving learning speed by fifty percent and increasing answer accuracy by sixty-five percent. Opening this first Tabtor Center will extend the learning environment in the region.
Teachers, parents and district officials credit Tabtor with helping students significantly improve
test scores and for helping pupils who once described themselves as “math phobic” develop a genuine love for numbers.
Founded in 2010 by CEO Raj Valli, the Tabtor platform delivers a highly personalized learning experience via iPads or Android tablets, combining the best of personalized teaching with a fun and engaging approach that holds student interest. Tailored to every student, Tabtor uses a combination of patent-pending digital-paper technology that allows sharing and review of handwritten work, automatic grading, video tutorials and adaptive analytics.
South Brunswick School District Superintendent Jerry Jellig reported that teachers in the district have seen a marked improvement in students’ performance in classes where the technology has been implemented and cited the program’s unique customization features as a key factor in student success.
Since the Tabtor program can be tailored to individual requirements, Tabtor enables students who excel in math to complete modules quickly while providing additional support to assist those who need to catch up.
The new Tabtor Center extends the learning environment by giving Tabtor students and parents another way to receive instruction in addition to the home and school learning programs that are already in place, according to Diane Wysocki, Head of Customer Experience at Tabtor.
It features instructor-to-student sessions as well as opportunities for peer-to-peer learning, an approach that fosters the team-building skills and project-based learning strategies that are increasingly important in a highly connected, collaborative workplace.
The Tabtor Center is led by Crystina Cardozo, its director. Cardozo, currently a professor at Rutgers University and an experienced tutor and secondary school math teacher, sees first- hand the importance of students learning fundamental math concepts before they enter college. Cardozo believes that Tabtor can create a new generation of fast learners, giving them the tools they need to conceptually understand math and enjoy it as well.
